M11, the Wild Duck Cluster, lies in the middle of the Scutum Star Cloud. The cluster stars stand out not only because of their brightness against the background of golden cloud stars, but also because of their color: the cluster is just over 300 million years old, and its brightest members are hot and blue.
As the Elephant increasingly suffered from vibrating even in light winds when imaging near the zenith, I switched to imaging objects farther south, hoping that the air would flow over the tube. This worked often enough, but the telescope still produced a lot of rejects. This was also the case here: 13 out of 64 frames were unusable.
