This complex arrangement of dark nebulae and globules at the left is called the Pipe nebula. Under the transparent skies of La Palma it can easily be seen with the naked eye. The pipe's head contains Barnard 59, 65, 66 and 67, the stem of the pipe contains Barnard 78.
But the real star of this image is the Snake nebula (Barnard 72) in the center. The very dense globules Barnard 69, Barnard 70 and Barnard 74 are arranged to the right and below the snake.
