Tidal tails connect the interacting galaxies NGC 5426 and NGC 5427.
This image as well as the one of NGC 5718 was inspired by the outstanding images made by Christian Dupriez. Christian uses far longer focal lengths than I do, and seeing often is much better at his location because of the near ocean.
In the early months of my remote observatory my frames were affected by extreme gradients and colour-spots mainly caused by several reflecting surfaces in the tube of my newtonian. Very good tips by Gordian Kley helped to remedy these issues.
Anyway they never disappeared totally. Only when I changed the camera in 2020 it was proved that the QSI and its filters were part of the problem.
