Last summer - shortly before the White Elephant moved to the Extremadura - I photographed these interacting galaxies with the dual rig in Presberg, intending to photograph them again with the longer focal length of the 40cm Newtonian telescope when I had the chance.
The result is that you can never have enough focal length for such objects…
At least the tidal tails connecting the galaxies or emanating from them are clearly visible. The background of the image is full of distant galaxies and galaxy groups.
